Commercial Team Construction LLC is a TEAM focused commercial contracting company. We have been serving the Indianapolis community since 2003. Our diverse background and proven experience in nearly every aspect of commercial construction allows our TEAM to self-perform the majority of our projects. Self-Performing allows us to stay in control of the schedule and the quality of work being completed. Reducing multi-party agendas simplifies the project and helps create significant cost savings for our clients. As your single point of contact, we can better serve you throughout the building process including design, site selection, building methods and overall project management. In the end, this enhances control, leads to a better quality product, lowers overall cost which also ensures an enjoyable experience with Commercial Team Construction.

History of Commercial Team Construction

We were founded in 2003 as Joel Fritz wanted to bring his education, life experiences and Nucor philosophy to the construction industry.

Joel believes his employees are one of the best things about Commercial Team Construction! He strives to improve their lives by providing them with a workplace in which they can grow, learn and strengthen Commercial Team Construction Team!

About Joel

Mr. Fritz brings over 36 years of construction experience to Commercial Team as the company founder and owner. He earned his degree in Architectural & Engineering from the ITT Institute and attended IIT for two years with a finance concentration during his studies. Mr. Fritz started his construction career with the Nucor Building Systems in 1987 through 1998. In that time he worked in the engineering department, customer service department, and as a district sales manager. After leaving Nucor Building Systems, Mr. Fritz took a position with a commercial general contractor and was later promoted to vice president. He worked here from 1998 to 2003 and specialized in design build construction. In 2003 Mr. Fritz embarked on his dream of owning his own company and started Commercial Team Construction as president and owner.

About James

James has been in the construction industry since 1998. He joined Commercial Team Construction in 2004 as a carpenter and became a job site superintendent in 2010 . As the company continued to grow his leadership skills advanced him to the position of Director of Field Operations. His “hands-on” experience, excellent attention to detail and ability to build positive relationships brings an extensive range of knowledge and value to the team and to our clientele. Today James is the Vice President as well as Co-Owner, he utilizes his vast experience to be an exceptional leader.

About Chris

Chris has been working in the construction industry since 2007 where his work ethic and desire to learn and grow has allowed him to experience jobs as a laborer, estimator, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. Chris began his journey with college and attended University of Toledo where he concentrated on business. He now joins Commercial Team Construction as a Project and Sales Manager where his communication skills, technical expertise, and attention to detail are utilized daily. Chris is also Part 107 certified which allows the ability to capture drone footage and images at site locations for a portfolio or progress updates. Chris is able to handle the materials, demands and customer relationships with various projects as he has managed over 30 projects at once. This ability to manage timelines and organization of projects allows him to be efficient with multiple projects occurring simultaneously. The knowledge he brings allows for a positive and valuable experience to occur with clients and his team members.


 

Sally Applegate

Compliance & Safety Director

About Sally

Sally Applegate joined our team in 2014 as an administrative assistant and was promoted to assistant project manager the following year to manage permit & utility coordination and code enforcement compliance for our projects. Sally has since built positive relations with many local area planning & building departments and has an excellent understanding of the complex process that it takes to obtain a permit and finalize inspections for occupancy. As a former medical professional, combined with years of construction industry experience, Sally was a natural fit to fill the position of Compliance & Safety Director here at Commercial Team Construction in 2020. Sally directs, develops and oversees the general health and safety policies and procedures of the company to ensure our workplace and jobsites are in compliance with OSHA and other state, local or industry specific regulations.
